I. If you want your students to work independently (alone or individually) then you
can say:

II. If you want your students to work in groups/ pairs then you can say:

 Work in groups of two/three/four.

III. If the teacher wants the students to answer a question/activity without her
calling one of their names, the teacher will ask:
