| There are many idioms in English. They're both positive and negative meaning. For today, the idiom that I would like to share you guys is "..(name of person)... has a big mouth." It's meaning is quite bad. When you say "someone has a big mouth", it's not mean someone who has big lips, but it means someone who likes to gossip, tell the secrets, and talk a lot. This's some of idioms that I know. So, if you know other idioms, let's share.

| Actually, I know a little bit about idioms because it is difficult to know their underlying meanings as if when I try to understand some poems. However, I'll share what I know. 1. Piece of cake A job, task or other activity that is easy or simple. 2. Put wool over other people's eyes to deceive someone into thinking well of them. 3. See eye to eye to say that two or more people agree on the same things.

| Don't count your chickens before the eggs have hatched; this idiom is used to express "Don't make plans for something that might not happen". Don't give up the day job; you are not very good at something. Don't put all your eggs in one basket; do not put all your resources in one possibility.

| - Don't judge the book by its cover It means that you should not judge someone or something from the outside.
I had learned this idiom when I was 2EN. it is very useful for living in the society. Because there are variety of people and sometimes looking from their appearance is not enough to know that they "good" or "bad"

| Get in with -- I don't have the faintest idea what this means without context, but you might try an English idiom search on the web or an idiom dictionary in the school library. It has a flavor of "become close to someone," as in "I'd like to get in with the president of the company," but I am not really sure.

| I kinda like "put yourself in someone else's shoes" It sounds nice, doesn't it? In this quote, you will know how someone feels and then you will understand his/her reaction or perspective or why he/she behaves that way. Kuntida 005 3EN | |

| A friend in need is a friend indeed is the first English idiom that I know. At first I didn't know or understand what did it mean because I was very young. The meaning of it is similar to Thai idiom as well.

| This is the one idiom I could remember because it was used be to my cover on facebook. "Maybe this world is another planet hell", this hooked my mind a lot to think of the chaotic world. We still don't know there are other planets in the universe or not. Anyway, if there are other planets, and people from those have a chance to live in this world. It might be the hell for them.

| "Actions speak louder than words" is my favorite idiom because People's intentions can be judged better by what they do than what they say. I think no matter what you say, but you never do like your words might not be good as you intend to do without talking too much. I dislike when there are some person promise me that he will beside me forever because I know he can't do like he said. So, I try to avoid to promise if I'm not sure that I can do like I said because I don't want anyone else must feel bad with me.

| It's raining cats and dogs. It means it's raining so hard. First time that I heard I have a question that why they have to compare with dogs and cats. As I searching for answer I know that after hard rain there are many dogs and cats died on the street. This is one of the beliefs. So they compare with cats and dogs because the hardness of rain make these animals died. Kanchaya 001 3EN | |

| English idiom is the part that i know a little bit because I hardly use it in my daily life. The idiom that I know since I was in high school is Raining cats and dogs. That means Raining very heavily. I just know that it has also been suggested that cats and dogs were washed from roofs during heavy weather. This is a widely repeated tale.
