Sometimes, Teachers want pupils to share ideas about vocabulary or sentence.
And here are some questions to ask them in the class. Razz

Asking about the words

- How do you say ...... in English?

- How do you pronounce ......?

- How do you spell ...?

- What's the meaning of.....?

- What does ...... mean?

- What's the English for.....?

Usually,I use these questions when I go to English Camp.
However , I have never use "What's the English for.....?" before.
So,Thank you for sharing, I will bring your technique to use in class and English Camp.

Here are some additional sentences for asking about the words.

What's "(the word)" in English?
What does "(the word)" mean?
How do you pronounce "(the word)"?
Where's the stress in "(the word)"?

Could / Can you repeat that, please?
Could / can you say that again, please?
Pardon me?

It’s the opposite of...(the word).
It means the same as...(the word).
Sorry, I don’t know that word in Thai. Does anyone have an electronic dictionary?

Here are some answers when student asking about the worlds.
That can help you describe the meaning in English.
